February
2010
When the sun comes out . . .
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it to you,
but Pacific Northwest winters? They're gray. Really
gray.
The cheerful "suns" of this crocheted
baby afghan remind me of that rare gift: a
Sunshine Day. It's something we really look forward
in the middle of a blustery Oregon February.

Somewhere in my memory is an Illinois summer that seemed
too hot and too long, a spare room at my grandma's where
the bed was dressed in white cotton and roses, a forest
of oak trees that towered above the neighborhood, Mrs.
May's porch swing where I read novel after novel, the
school parking lot where I rode my imaginary horse over
imaginary jumps. Humidity cloaked. Lightning bugs floated.
Thunder rolled and passed, dark and deep. I was a dreamer,
then, and everything moved me.
These days, far from home, I dream in calico and crochet
hooks. Entirely handmade in my home studio in Oregon,
Posie: Rosy Little Things is my original line of accesories,
gifts, crochetwear, handbags, craft kits, patterns,
and other pretty little things I have been developing,
making, and selling since the spring of 2000.
Thanks for visiting me here, in my little web shop,
where I sell some of the things I make. My web site,
AliciaPaulson.com,
has more stuff about what I do. My blog, Posie
Gets Cozy, is where I write about how and why I
do it. Stay the afternoon. I'll show you all my favorite
things.
Thank you,
